Lloyd William Cook is scheduled to appear in Prince George provincial court this morning on a charge of failing to appear for a B.C. Supreme Court Justice's decision on counts he was facing in relation to the death of his stepson 13 years ago.
Cook, 55, was apprehended Monday at an Osoyoos home. A 31-year-old Oliver woman, Christal Chamberlain, who had also been reported missing was also found at the home, Williams Lake RCMP confirmed Tuesday. No charges against her are being contemplated, RCMP said.
Cook was held in custody at the Oliver RCMP lockup overnight Monday and then transferred to Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.
Cook was not present in court last Friday when he was found guilty of unlawful confinement and interference with a dead body in connection with the Jan. 7, 2000 death of his 13-year-old stepson, Adam Scott Williams-Dudoward. He was found not guilty of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.
The accused was not present for the verdict after telling authorities over the phone that his truck had broken down near Williams Lake on Jan. 31 while en route to Prince George for a prior court hearing.
In confirming Cook's appearance in provincial court, criminal justice branch spokesman Neil MacKenzie said that as far as he was aware no date for sentencing on the Supreme Court matters had been set yet.
