PG Transit, a subsidiary of PWTransit Canada, will take over handyDART operations in Prince George on Aug. 1, a B.C. Transit release says.

All registered handyDART customers have been informed of this change, which will not impact service. All the information and processes regarding service, scheduling and fares will remain the same. Additionally, the software program that manages trip bookings will relocate to PG Transit, ensuring that all existing subscription and repeater trip schedules will not be affected.

The Carefree Society provided handyDART service in the Prince George Transit System for more than 50 years. All Carefree Society employees currently working in public transit have been offered comparable roles with PG Transit.

The contract also includes service in the Bulkley Nechako Regional Transit System.
