Connaught Hill Park will be closed both to vehicular and pedestrian traffic all day on Canada Day in preparation for the fireworks show, set for 11 p.m.
Residents are further advised not to try to go up the hill to view the fireworks or the set up. The gate to the park will be closed and signs will be posted at several locations to discourage visitors.
There will be also be volunteers on-site ready to escort would-be onlookers back down the hill.
Spectators are encouraged to view the fireworks from Canada Games Plaza where the Canada 150 Heatwave concert event will be held starting at 7 p.m.
The park will reopen on Sunday at 9 a.m.
