The cause of the fire at the Connaught Motor lnn will remain a mystery. Fire officials announced on Tuesday that they could not determine the cause of the blaze.

The fire happened Sunday at about 4:20 a.m. in a vacant apartment on the second floor of the complex at Patricia Boulevard and Victoria Street. The cinderblock walls on concrete floor pads prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms, and there were no injuries.

After an investigation, Chief Fire Prevention Officer Dennis Perrault announced he, too, had hit a wall.

"After examining the fire scene and conducting interviews with the building staff, the results of the investigation were inconclusive," he said. "The cause of the fire has been ruled undetermined."

The estimated property value loss due to the fire was estimated at $25,000.
