The Prince George Community Foundation is moving.
Since it was launched, it has resided at the Studio 2880 complex on 15th Avenue but its growth over the years now requires a new address.
"The Coast Hotel has always been a strong partner of the Prince George Community Foundation, hosting many of our Citizen of the Year dinners," said PGCF president Ray Noonan on Thursday, prior to the organization's unveiling of this year's Citizen of the Year finalists. The event was held in the front lobby of the Coast Inn of the North. "We are pleased to announce that as of Sept. 15 we will be relocating to the lower lobby of this hotel."
The offices will have a higher public profile, said PGCF board members, due to its downtown business district location. It will also have better wheelchair accessibility.
Noonan also introduced to the public the PGCF's new executive director Brenda Langlois, citing her past experience both as an entrepreneur and in the not-for-profit sector.
"We have a very strong individual in that role and she has made my life easy over the last few months," he said.
Langlois takes over from longtime director Judy Neiser, who recently accepted a position with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
