Giving something back is the Prince George Community Foundation's mandate.
In keeping with that, more than $33,000 was allocated to 15 organizations at the Grant Award Reception held Tuesday night.
"We are pleased to recognize that all of these organizations have contributed a great deal to the quality of our community and all of them are supported by very dedicated volunteers," said Ray Noonan, Prince George Community Foundation president.
As the foundation celebrates its 19th anniversary their endowment fund has grown to almost $8.5 million.
The recipients of the grants were:

* BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund
* Sistema Prince George
* International Forestry Students' Association at UNBC
* Arthritis Society
* Theatre for Living
* BC Schizophrenia Society
* Handy Circle Resource Society
* Child Development Center of Prince George and District
* Canadian Paraplegic Association
* Central British Columbia Railway
* Forest Industry Museum Society
* Prince George Therapeutic Riding Association.
