A head-on collision Saturday morning between two pickup on a logging road south of Prince George led to a fatality, North District RCMP traffic services Sgt. Pat McTiernan has confirmed.

A head-on collision Saturday morning between two pickup on a logging road south of Prince George led to a fatality, North District RCMP traffic services Sgt. Pat McTiernan has confirmed.

A 21-year-old man died at the scene of the collision, at the 137-kilometre mark of the Willowcale Forest Service Road, McTiernan said, while a 20-year-old man was taken to University Hospital of Northern British Columbia with non-life-threatening injuries.

"We had a collision analyst attend to see which vehicle crossed the centreline and we're in the process of figuring that out," McTiernan said.

Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and alcohol was not believed to be a factor.

Because the collision occurred on a forest service road, WorkSafeBC is also investigating, spokesperson Donna Freeman confirmed.

The victim's name had not been released as of late Monday afternoon.
