Have some unused scrubs laying around? The College of New Caledonia will take them off your hands for a good cause.

On Sept. 28, the CNC Health Sciences will be selling donated scrubs for $5 with all money raised going to the "Making a Difference" bursary, which benefits health science students in need.

It isn't only students who can purchase the scrubs, either. Community members are also welcome.

“The scrubs are really affordable and anyone – students or community members – can buy them,” says Nancy Esopenko, an event organizer and CNC nursing instructor.

Each year, the college gives at least five bursaries, each valued at $250.

“This bursary has made a huge difference for our students,” says Esopenko. “To date, 37 health sciences students have received bursaries and more than 2,000 scrubs are in the hands of students.”

You can purchase scrubs on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gather Place in the main building of the Prince George campus.

Donations of scrubs will be accepted at the CNC Library (3330 22nd Ave.) or Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation office at UHNBC, at 1475 Edmonton St.
