A 21-year tradition will continue this month in Prince George.
The College of New Caledonia (CNC) will be celebrating Black History Month alongside the Prince George African Heritage Society with an Afro Fusion Cuisine Dinner Dance and Entertainment on Feb. 23.
The dinner is hosting at the college's Prince George campus. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers and drinks and dinner to follow at 6:30 and a dance with DJ Darkness.
“It’s important to celebrate and learn from the past during Black History Month,” CNC Instructor and one of the event organizers George Kaweesi says in a news release. “But it’s also important we come together to celebrate while also continuing to build a future for our youth.”
Tickets are $25 for ages 13 and older, $10 for seven to 12-year-olds and free for children six and under.
Tickets are available for purchase at the CNC Bookstore, UNBC Bookstore, Books and Company, DJ Afro Superstore, and at the door if available.
“CNC is a true community college, but we are also increasingly dynamic and international” CNC president Henry Resier adds in the release. “We all benefit from this infusion of culture coming together on our campus. CNC is proud to be a supporter of the Black History Month Celebration, which brings our community together every year.”
