College board decides not to increase tuition next year

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) board of governors voted not to increase tuition by two per cent for next year, during its regularly scheduled meeting in Quesnel on Friday.

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) board of governors voted not to increase tuition by two per cent for next year, during its regularly scheduled meeting in Quesnel on Friday.

The increase would have represented about $119,000 to the College's budget for 2011-12.

"We will have to adjust our plan somewhat for next year," CNC president John Bowman said in a statement. "It will likely mean that the College will have a larger operating fund deficit.

The College will vote on a plan at its next board meeting April 29 in Prince George to deal with a projected $1.8 million shortfall.
