Its Prince George location included, Coast Hotels and Resorts has a new voluntary carbon offset program for guests in place.
Those who stay at the Coast are invited to add $1 per night to their room bill to purchase carbon offsets equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their stay.
The offsets will be administered by Pacific Carbon Trust, a Crown corporation established in 2008 to help meet carbon reduction goals and to support the growth of a low-carbon
economy.
The program is available at 17 Coast Hotels and Resorts across B.C.
