A CN coal train derailed Sunday night south of McBride, closing the rail line to Prince George.
Preliminary reports indicate that 33 loaded coal cars destined for Prince Rupert were derailed, CN spokesperson Kelli Svendsen said Monday.
The derailment took place about 50 kilometres south of McBride in a remote area, she said.
There were no injuries and no environmental issues, added Svendsen.
It's not known how long it will take to clear the derailment and re-open the line, she said.
