Western Coal Corp. has proven once again why it's the poster child for a resurgent coal sector in northern B.C., posting a whopping 18-fold increase in its second-quarter profits over the same period last year.
To put it mildly, the company is enjoying a coal boom, which has been fueled by continuing interest in Asia for the much sought-after metallurgical coal produced in the region.
Other companies are also eyeing this renewed opportunity, but it's Western Coal that is enjoying the benefits in northern B.C.
