College of New Caledonia's fifth annual Global Gourmet on Saturday has sold out, but donors can now go online to purchase equipment that students need.

An page on the CNC website allows people to browse and then buy equipment that will go directly into students' hands.

"This equipment is vital to train our students," said CNC communications and development director Randall Heidt in a press release. "We want our students to succeed and with the Global Gourmet fundraiser, we are ensuring they have the necessary hands-on training they need."

The 2011 dinner menu features items, prepared by CNC's professional cook students, from eight different countries and regions: Mexico, Mid-central U.S., Thailand, Caribbean, Poland, First Nations, Guyana and British Isles.

Guests will have the choice to purchase items for students in chemistry, human kinetics, medical laboratory technology, dental, nursing, professional cook, new media and trades as well as the library and daycare

"Every donation goes a long way in helping our students and we greatly appreciate everyone who chooses to help someone achieve their educational goals," Heidt said.

Global Gourmet begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers and is followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
