CN Rail has reached an agreement with Canpotex to carry its potash slated for export to Neptune Terminals in North Vancouver.
However, in announcing the agreement Monday, the companies said they will continue to work on establishing a potash terminal in Prince Rupert which would be served by CN over its northern B.C. line.
In both cases, "train design will be highly efficient, utilizing distributed power locomotives pulling 170-car trains," CN said in a statement.
The 10-year agreement will come into effect on July 1.
