There will have been starts on 135 new single-family homes and 50 units of multiple-family housing in Prince George and area by the end of this year, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is predicting in its quarterly outlook released Friday.

And CMHC revised upward its sales prediction for 2012, to 1,000 sales for $253,000 each, from 950 sales at the same average price in its third quarter outlook.

Sales of homes, both new and used, amounted to 336 at an average price of $243,561, versus 261 homes for $229,541 during the third quarter of 2010. Year to date there have been 833 sales for $242,702 each down from 870 at an average $246,716 by the same point in 2010.
