A northbound lane closure will be in effect Wednesday for Highway 97 between Noranda Rd and Knell Rd due to a watermain leak.
From 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., northbound traffic will be single lane and diverted into eastern southbound lane and the southbound traffic will single lane and diverted into the west southbound lane.
Some area residences and businesses may have their water temporarily turned off, but will be otherwise unaffected.
Drivers are encouraged to take Foothills Boulevard as an alternative.
Elsewhere, construction work has begun on Highway 16 at Telachick Road, 29 kilometres west of Prince George.
The work will continue through to Sept. 26, 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday, but the stretch will be reduced to single-lane alternating only during paving.
Also, maintenance work will reduce Highway 16 to single lane alternating from Fort Fraser to 20 km east of the community from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of Friday.
East of Prince George, construction work will continue until June 19, three kilometres east of McBride with up to 20-minute delays.
As well, work on the West Twin bridge 30 km west of McBride will continue through to the end of Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, also reducing traffic to single-lane alternating at the spot.
And expect minor delays to allow for truck traffic to cross Highway 97 13 km south of Quesnel as road construction from Dragon Lake Road to Quartz Road continues through to the end of Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction 11.7 km south of Quesnel will also continue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until further notice.
