Civic Light Up returns to Prince George

After a two-year hiatus, the annual event will be back on Dec. 4.

Santa Claus arrives at the 26th annual Civic Light Up in Canada Games Plaza in 2019. The event, and its most special guest, return to Prince George on Dec. 4.

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Civic Light Up will return to Canada Games Plaza on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The 27th annual event will start at 5 p.m. the centrepiece Tree of Lights will be lit at 5:55 p.m. outside Canada Games Plaza.

The event will feature live entertainment, music, food trucks, mascots, street hockey with members of the Prince George Spruce Kings and special visit by Santa Claus. Free hot chocolate and holiday treats will be served at 6 p.m., after the light up, and there will be a fireworks show presented by Canadian Tire.

Ahead of the main event, Two Rivers Gallery will be hosting free craft sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and there will be free public skating at Kopar Memorial Arena from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

The Spirit of the North Festival of Trees will be running inside the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
