The City of Prince George 2011 capital paving program is set to begin this week.
Projects include:
Ospika Boulevard between 22nd Avenue and Massey Drive - north and south bound lanes. Asphalt milling will start May 17 with paving to follow and shouldd take three to four day,s weather dependant.
Paving will take place over 2.080 lane kilometers with an estimated cost of $257,000.
Paving will also take place on Continental Way between Terminal Blvd. and Hwy. 97 access road.
Asphalt milling will start May 18 with paving to follow and the project should take two days, weather dependant. Paving will take place over 1.136 lane kilometers with an estimated cost oof $182,000.
"In 2011, council has committed to a road rehabilitation record budget of $3.5 million, up about 2.9 per cent from last year, with 11 capital paving projects identified for improvement," said Mayor Dan Rogers. "In addition to the capital program, there is also the road repair budget that includes approximately a million dollars for patching as part of the asphalt maintenance program."
