The city is setting up a phone survey this summer to help put together its 2016 budget plan and is asking residents to take the 15 minutes for civic feedback.
Only about 400 people did the survey last year despite more than 3,000 calls made, said Coun. Jillian Merrick.
"I would ask that you as a resident of the city of Prince George get a call, know that that answer will shape greatly the input for budget consultations," said Merrick at Monday's council meeting.
The Mustel Group was again contracted to conduct the 30-plus question survey, that focuses on service fees, resident satisfaction with service levels and includes more of a focus on city communication with the public.
The city is required to have public consultation around its financial plan, as outlined by the Community Charter.
Mayor Lyn Hall echoed Merrick's call for engagement.
"We need the residents of Prince George to participate in this," said Hall, adding the city will also rely on discussions like the one in the Hart for budget help. "Those kinds of meetings that we have also form our budget discussions that we will start this fall."
The survey will also be made available online.
Results will be presented to the finance committee Aug. 17.
