A new survey is launching early next week to gauge how satisfied residents are with city customer service.

The city wants to hear from 1,000 people who have contacted the city within the past year to assess their experience dealing with representatives about things such as garbage pickup, snow removal and road maintenance. The study will include both a phone and online survey available at princegeorge.ca, as well as a hard-copy survey available at city hall.

Questions include rating the promptness of service, how many people it took speaking to before the situation was resolved and whether customers are familiar and have used certain online services.

"Along with the city's neighbourhood conversations and other upcoming initiatives, this is a great opportunity for citizens to have their voices heard. We want to receive all kinds of feedback so that a wide variety of experiences can be reviewed," Mayor Lyn Hall said in a press release. "This survey will provide administration with information to use over the next few years to identify opportunities to improve customer service - something we always strive towards."

Running until mid-August, the survey's results are expected to provide benchmark data that future survey results will be measured against. Results from the inaugural review are expected to be analyzed by the end of August, with follow up information posted on the city's website.
