The city is hosting a number of pop-up sessions for the Official Community Plan review process.

The city will be hosting a number of pop-up events over January and February allowing people to have their say on the Official Community Plan (OCP) review.

These sessions allow residents to learn more about the review process, plus get involved by highlighting different areas of Prince George that are important to them for preservation or improvement, and what people’s ideal vision for the city looks like in the future.

The upcoming events are:

January 5 – Pine Centre Mall, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. near the south entrance between Ardene and Michael Hill

January 13 – Cougars Game, CN Centre, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the concourse at Section W

January 26 – Pine Centre Mall, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. near the south entrance between Ardene and Michael Hill

February 17 – Downtown Winterfest, Veteran’s Plaza, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The city’s existing OCP was last changed in 2011.

The new OCP will guide growth and development through to 2050. The OCP review process started in September last year with community sessions and an online survey. Drafting of the OCP begins now and continues through August. The final OCP review and approval is expected by the end of the year.

The city says two more open houses are also in the works.
