The city planned a community bash Thursday to honour 46 community groups that are just a little bit richer for their efforts.
The city handed out $137,850 in grants for education efforts, festivals, summer camps, art projects and more.
Those 46 were pulled from a pool of 67 applications with requests totaling $437,839.
Mayor Lyn Hall and councillors were at the Prince George Public Library party, but city council signed off on the grants at Monday's meeting.
"These three granting programs help fulfill City Council's vision to be "committed to a population health approach to social development, which considers a broad range of impacts," the report said
The program speaks to council's vision that it follow a "population health approach to social development, which considers a broad range of impacts," the report said.
"The grant programs contribute to meeting the goals of clear identity and pride, cultural richness, equity and inclusion, health and wellness, safe environments and a supportive and engaged community."
This year, the city has $405,150 available to support community groups. All but $8,000 has been granted and the rest will be included in an October 2016 report to council.
