July proved to be a big month for construction in the city of Prince George.
More than $38 million worth of building permits were issued last month, almost $29 million more than July 2012.
The lions' share of the permits were carried by two projects - the Wood Innovation and Design Centre ($17.9 million) and the rebuild of Lakeland Mills ($13.8 million).
Other significant permits include $$690,000 for the Costco gas bar, $648,000 for a mechanical upgrade to College Heights elementary school and $231,7000 for an exterior upgrade for the school. A cross country technical building for the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club at Otway is also on the books for $226,800.
Building permits were also issued last month for 14 new single-family dwellings, worth $3.8 million.
