The city's annual report is going online in a big way.
If an effort to engage and inform residents about what is happening in their city, the City Hall's 2010 annual report includes 30 online videos and opportunities for online feedback through social media including Facebook and Twitter.. City communications and community engagement manger Mike Davies said to goal is to get people talking about what is happening in the city.
"We wanted to create a piece to engage the community," Davies said. "Were just trying to do something new and see if it is appreciated by the public. We may be the first [city in B.C.] doing this."
The city prepared an annual report every year, however the lengthy written reports are often not viewed by people outside City Hall, he said.
"This is a big piece for people to learn about the projects we're working on," he said.
The report, videos and links to social media can be viewed on the city's web site at http://princegeorge.ca under the Hot Topics tab.
