Twice is nice when it comes to giving a million thanks to Citizen readers.

Starting this Monday, the newspaper is rolling out Thanks a Million, a new contest with two ways to play and win.

And it's not just empty gratitude -- The Prince George Citizen wants to give you a shot at becoming this city's newest millionaire.

"Like all good ideas, we borrowed it from someone else -- and improved upon it," said Hugh Nicholson, Citizen publisher. "The Citizen was looking for an opportunity to say thanks to our loyal subscribers and single-copy purchasers, so we based this on a successful promotion in Hamilton, Ontario.

"Coincidentally, Wood Wheaton was also looking to say thanks to their customers. We decided to partner and the result was Thanks a Million."

To win the million, check out The Citizen and cut out the special sign featured in the Thanks a Million promotion. Display it somewhere -- your car, home window, on your bike. From Jan. 31 to March 26, Citizen Spec Spotters will be picking lucky winners for a chance to win the million, a Vespa scooter, or another wonderful secondary prize.

Each week the sign will change colour so be sure to keep reading The Citizen to keep your chance to win up to date.

There are also $13,000 worth of weekly prizes. All you have to do is fill out one of the weekly prize entry forms, also included in the Thanks a Million promotion, and drop it off at Wood Wheaton, The Citizen or any of the featured merchants.
