The Prince George Citizen is now partnering with Workopolis, a Canadian website that offers employers and employees the opportunity to connect online.
Now when employers want to hire the right person for the job, they can take out an ad in the Citizen, and the ad can also be placed on the Workopolis site at a fraction of the regular cost.
"So an employer now has access to the largest job board in the country, with more than 30,000 jobs posted on Workopolis," said Citizen publisher Hugh Nicholson.
On the flip side, people looking for work or changing careers now have access to a tremendous resource with job postings for the entire country, added Nicholson.
Workopolis gets about three million visitors a month.
There are also resources on the Workopolis site, including instructions on how to build a resume and how to succeed in the interview.
"We're very excited about the new partnership," said Nicholson. "Workopolis is the premier online job site for employers and people looking for work in Canada. We have wanted to partner with a major online supplier like this for a while now."
The opportunity came when Glacier Media, owner of The Citizen, partnered with Workopolis.
"The Prince George Citizen is the lead paper in rolling this new feature out," said Nicholson.
"This is just part of The Citizen's ongoing efforts to enable our readers and advertisers to connect with the audience they are looking for and to get the best possible information available when it comes to employment opportunities."
