On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Prince George Community Foundation, I am very pleased to have been given this opportunity to highlight the nominees for the 16th Citizen of the Year, an event hosted by the Prince George Community Foundation. Prince George is continually very fortunate in having many dedicated volunteers in our community who expect nothing more for their hard work than to be able to have made a difference in their community, Prince George.
On this page you will see some of the attributes of five of those dedicated Prince George volunteers. These Prince George residents have been nominated by their peers and will be given recognition at the Citizen of the Year event on October 21st at the Inn of the North for the particular volunteerism that they have provided in the community. At this event one of these volunteers will be announced as the Citizen of the Year for 2011.
The Prince George Community Foundation was incorporated in 1995 and the mission statement emphasizes that the Foundation was created to provide the opportunity to give something back. In 1998 the first grant of $1000 was given out. Since that time we have distributed close to $650,000 in grants.
Tickets for the upcoming Citizen of the Year event are available at the Coast Inn of the North reception counter. We would be very pleased to have you attend and provide your support to these five dedicated Prince George Volunteers and the Prince George Community Foundation.
