Citizen adds new reporter

The Citizen is pleased to welcome Peter James as the paper's newest reporter. Peter joined the Citizen on Tuesday, July 3. His most prominent work to date has been covering Dr. Suresh Katakkar's controversial resignation as the oncologist for the B.

The Citizen is pleased to welcome Peter James as the paper's newest reporter.

Peter joined the Citizen on Tuesday, July 3. His most prominent work to date has been covering Dr. Suresh Katakkar's controversial resignation as the oncologist for the B.C. Cancer Agency for the North.

Peter is originally from Winnipeg and is a 2003 graduate from the journalism program at Carleton University in Ottawa. He has worked as a reporter and editor at the Kenora (Ont.) Daily Miner and News, as well as the Red Deer Advocate.

For the last five years, he was a copy editor at the national sports desk in Ottawa for Postmedia News.

Peter and his wife, Carolynne, were married last summer in her hometown of Vanderhoof.

She is a UNBC graduate who went on to pick up a master's degree in journalism from UBC.

They are expecting their first child in September.
