A local church's application to renew a temporary use permit is up in the air.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God Faith Chapel has been holding services at 3850-18th Avenue, near the corner of Ogilvie Street, for three years and is seeking an extension on the permit.

But staff is recommending city council turn down the application when they meet on Monday night. If that occurs, the church must either find a new home or apply to have the site rezoned from its current designation as light industrial.

Developer Harry Backlin will speak to council on behalf of the church.

Public hearings for two rezoning applications are also on the agenda:

- To rezone 3.42 hectares of vacant land on Foothills Boulevard just north of Chief Lake Road to multiple residential from greenbelt.

Staff is recommending council approve the application subject to a traffic impact analysis, servicing brief and a convenant limiting the density to 22 units per hectare with half made up of single-detached and half a mixture of two-unit, row and four-plex housing and with 10 per cent of the entire development providing accessible housing features.

- To rezone 14.8 hectares at 7919 Highway 97 South, at Sintich Road, to manufactured home park and one hectare to local commercial. The site is currently zoned for agriculture and forestry.

As well, representatives from Emergency Management B.C. and 100 Mile House will be on hand to

recognize the city its assistance during last summer's wildfire evacuations.

And council will consider an annual operating agreement with B.C. Transit.
