Four fire halls responded to an alarm at a wood manufacturing facility on the southeastern edge of the city. In the 9000 block of Willow Cale Road firefighters located a blaze inside a chip hopper.
"Three halls were released to return to their halls while one engine crew remained on scene to co-ordinate fire fighting in conjunction with industry [the facility's own] crews," said Drew Larsen, Assistant Chief with Prince George Fire Rescue Service.
There were no injuries reported for this incident and estimating the level of damage was still in progress.
