There are still cold stints ahead, but the blustery winds are expected to stop soon.
That's according to Environment Canada as the agency lifted its special weather statement for Prince George and the Pine Pass today (Nov. 27).
Winds gusted up to 60 km/h this week since the statement was put in place almost 48 hours ago.
On Monday (Nov. 25), the weather outlook also called for flurries, which made a brief appearance in the city and some snowfall at higher elevations.
Environment Canada is now calling for sunny skies today and into the weekend.
However, temperatures are expected to drop to as low as -16 C on Friday (Nov. 29) and Sunday (Dec. 1) in light of the brighter horizon.
Tomorrow's (Nov. 28) forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies in the afternoon along with 15 km/h winds, dropping the thermometer to -14 C.
Residents are encouraged, while the wind still blows, to wear multiple layers when going outside, especially a wind-resistant outer layer.
