A special investigation into care homes for children, including an examination of their use of police to help control the behaviour of client children, will be conducted by B.C.'s Child and Youth Representative. She will be considering Prince George's homes especially.
Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond announced Thursday that she would not be doing an investigation into the Tasering of a Prince George child in a care home due to other investigations by other agencies into that matter. Once they were complete, she would reconsider her options regarding that incident, she said.
In the meantime, she said she will delve into the habits of B.C.'s group homes and care residences where children-in-care live.
