Prince George economic development professional Charles Scott is the newest member of the board of governors for the B.C. Real Estate Foundation.
Scott was named to the board by Finance Minister Kevin Falcon and the appointment was announced Wednesday by Foundation chair Eileen Smith.
Scott teaches at the University of Northern British Columbia's business school and is currently pursuing a doctorate in international business. He also provides consultancy work related to economic and business development.
A five-member board directs the Foundation, which funds organizations doing good work related to real estate and land use.
The Minister of Finance appoints two members and the B.C. Real Estate Association, the Real Estate Council of B..C, and the Real Estate Institute of BC each appoint one member.
Individuals are appointed for three-year terms and may serve up to two consecutive terms.
The other members are vice chair Kelly Lerigny of Chilliwack, Stephen Mullock of Agassiz and Harpreet Bhatti of Surrey. Smith is from North Vancouver.
