Harold Fletcher, 24, has been charged with sexual offences against two young girls on Friday in the vicinity of Pine Centre Mall.
Fletcher and two others were arrested thanks to the girls swiftly, after they were free of the alleged incident, getting the attention of Pine Centre Mall security who worked with police.
The girls, aged 13 and 14, reported to security at about 2:45 p.m.
"Security were able to identify and maintain surveillance on the three suspects until they departed the mall in a vehicle driven by one of the males," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.
"Security was able to obtain a description of the vehicle and the license plate number and passed this information on to police when they arrived. Police set up a perimeter in the area and subsequently located the vehicle abandoned in a snowbank, close to Carney Street. With persistence patrols, police were able to observe the three suspects running across 15th Avenue. All three were arrested without incident on Douglas Street at approximately 3:02 p.m."
Investigators said Wednesday they now believe that only one of the suspects committed the alleged offences. Two charges of Sexual Assault and two charges of Sexual Interference have been approved for Fletcher.
