Charges laid in car theft

A 19-year-old Prince George man faces four charges in relation to the theft of a car early Thursday morning, later crashed into a fence.

A 19-year-old Prince George man faces four charges in relation to the theft of a car early Thursday morning, later crashed into a fence.

Aaron Mickey faces one count each of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, flight from a peace officer and mischief $5,000 or under.

Keys had been left inside the car, a Ford Tempo, when it was stolen from a 700-block 17th Avenue home shortly before 6 a.m. Police said the driver fled on foot after the car was run into a fence 20th Avenue and Hemlock Street.

Mickey remained in custody as of Friday morning.
