Prince George RCMP are considering laying Motor Vehicle Act charges against a 47-year-old male cyclist after a collision with a pickup truck Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Upland Street and MacDonald Avenue in Prince George.
Both the cyclist and the driver of the pickup truck were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Evidence gathered by police and witnesses at the scene indicate the Prince George man riding the bicycle failed to stop at the stop sign on MacDonald Avenue and collided with the northbound truck that had the right-of-way.
The cyclist was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing headphones.
RCMP are reminding cyclists who travel on roadways that the Motor Vehicle Act laws apply to them as well. Helmets are mandatory and headphones are prohibited.
