Charges coming after three-car crash

A 21-year-old Prince George man could be facing charges following a three-car collision Friday afternoon.

At 3:15 p.m. on March 8, members of the Prince George RCMP's municipal traffic services and general duty members responded to a report of a collision on Massey Drive.

Investigators believe that a Ford Escort and a Honda Element were stopped behind a southbound vehicle making a left turn into a parking lot. A full-sized GMC pickup failed to stop and collided into the Escort, which then hit the Element.

The BC Ambulance Service transported both female drivers of the Ford and Honda to the University Hospital of Northern BC with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested the driver of the pickup for impaired driving. He was transported back to the P.G. detachment where the two breath samples he provided registered more than twice the legal limit for blood alcohol content.

The accused was released on a promise to appear in court on may 30. Investigators are recommending charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over .08.

Anyone with information about driving offences is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
