Gordon Mayward Kerr, 49, is also facing a charge of criminal negligence causing death. He had originally been charged with attempted murder and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Samuel Charles Auger, 29, was flown to Vancouver General Hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was allegedly struck by Kerr's vehicle on April 28 near Grama's Inn and Esther's Inn on Central Street East.

Kerr, who made a first appearance on the new charges Wednesday in Prince George provincial court, has reportedly been remanded in custody.
