Charge laid in death of flag person

A charge has been laid against a man in relation to last summer's death of a woman who was struck and killed while conducting traffic control at a work site in Prince George.

Linda Magnussen died at the scene Aug. 16, 2016 after she was struck by a truck while conducting traffic at a work site in Prince George. Lorne Richard Myram has since been charged with driving without due care and attention under the Motor Vehicle Act in relation to the incident.

A charge has been laid against a man in relation to last summer's death of a woman who was struck and killed while conducting traffic control at a work site in Prince George.

Lorne Richard Myram faces one count of driving without due care and attention under the Motor Vehicle Act according to court records. He is scheduled to make a first appearance in Prince George provincial court on Sept. 13.

Linda Magnussen, 59, died at the scene during the early morning of Aug. 16, 2016 while working a site on Austin Road West near Highway 97 North. She was hit by a CN Rail truck.

Magnussen was described by her son as a "safety Nazi" who was very exacting in her job and who had a passion for fishing while not at work.
