The University of Northern B.C. will kick-off its 25th anniversary celebrations with a welcome to new students Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning with a word from Amrik Virk,  advanced education minister,  who will announce the expansion of UNBC's award-winning energy system. Followed by student orientation. Then at 1 p.m. everyone is welcome to join in the Ceremonial Loop to recognize the contributions that it took to established the university. The launch marks the start of a project to plant trees around Northern B.C. in honour of the 16,000 residents who joined the campaign to get the university in Prince George 25 years ago.
Guests will enjoy entertainment, go on campus tours and get their own seedling they can plant at home or on campus grounds.
