One woman was sent to the hospital following a Saturday night attack in a city park.
Police responded to a complaint of a violent sexual assault at Lorne Park around 9 p.m. on May 4 after a woman walking through the park was accosted by a male demanding money.
The woman refused and was punched and kicked before being sexually assaulted. A nearby neighbour heard the woman scream and, together with the victim, was able to end the attack.
The woman was treated at the hospital for a number of injuries before being released.
The suspect is described as an East Indian male, approximately 20 years old, standing six feet tall with a stocky build. He was clean shaven and has a large, dark-coloured tattoo on his left arm. He was wearing a hat, dark shots, white high-top basketball shoes with Velcro fasteners and a backpack.
At this point, the male has not been identified but through a number of inquiries, police have noted that this male has approached a number of other females - including children - near Westwood and Massey Drives, the CN Centre and Pinewood neighbourhood.
Police are also interested in talking with another woman, who was walking with the victim before entering Lorne Park. According to the RCMP, this other woman noticed the male earlier and was concerned for her safety.
"The Prince George RCMP are requesting assistance in locating this male and would also like to remind people to be safe and take proper precautions when out walking in the evening," said Const. Vince Reddekopp.
