After a successful first attempt to cash mob a local business, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and Hell Yeah Prince George are teaming up a second time for Cash Mob 2.0.
First it was Books & Co. that saw a successful Cash Mob spend their $20 each at the local book store. Next up is the Two Rivers Gallery where residents are encouraged to visit the Two Rivers Gallery Gift Shop on Saturday, June 6 to support the local store.
"We had 20 to 25 per cent higher sales than we normally would on a Saturday," said Books and Company owner Owen Lubbers in a recent news release. "That's good news for any business. It was humbling to have been chosen by the community, and we really appreciate the support. From our end, it was a great success."
The second time around the Two Rivers Gallery, a chamber member, was nominated to host the Cash Mob 2.0 by the community.
"Two Rivers is a fantastic choice for a Cash Mob because not only will people be able to support a local business, but also the many amazing local artisans and artists who sell their work in the gallery gift shop," said Chamber CEO Christie Ray. "We are excited by the considerable buzz that has been building around the Cash Mob, and can really see this phenomenon taking off in Prince George."
This time the Cash Mob will take place between 10 a.m. and noon and people are asked to come right at 10 a.m. to give that 'storm the doors' feeling, said Scott McWalter of Hell Year Prince George.
The next Cash Mob will take place in early July.
