Saying high water levels are already impacting some communities, Cariboo Regional District officials are urging property owners to prepare for spring flooding.

They have also made unfilled bags and sand available for free at the Wildwood and Miocene volunteer fire departments.

The River Forecast Centre has said extremely high snowpack has been recorded in Fraser River drainages, including record amounts at three stations in the Middle Fraser-Quesnel region.

The CRD is also urging residents to sign up for emergency notifications at cariboord.ca, as well as to go to the website for further tips on how to prepare for flooding.
