The Cariboo Cougars took on the visiting Okanagan Rockets on Sunday morning in Kin 1 in B.C. Elite Hockey League U18AAA action.
The Cats won the game by a score of 4-2 with Maxwell Sanford potting a pair of goals in the win. Reid Arberry, and Tymon Sanikopoulos were the other goal scorers for the Cougars. Kurtis Kinoshita scored both goals for the Rockets. Tysen Smith started in net for the Cats while Mason Gatz got the nod for Okanagan.
The two teams had met the night before with the Okanagan Rockets edging out the Cariboo Cougars with a 5-4 overtime win. Caleb Poitras, Zachary Leslie, Carter Hesselgrave, and Chase Pacheco were the goal scorers for the Cats. Kurtis Kinoshita, Ewan Minisofer, Kaiden Schaupmeyer, and Kalso Ferner all scored for the Rockets with the overtime winner coming off the stick of Ben Strobel at 4:23 in the extra frame.
The Cariboo Cougars record now stands at 5-5-1-1 for 12 points, and the Okanagan Rockets move to 4-6-1-1 for 10 points.
The next action for the Cariboo Cougars is Saturday, November 6 at 5:45 p.m. and Sunday, November 7 at 1:30 p.m. against the Greater Vancouver Canadians. Both games are to be played at the Richmond Olympic Oval - North.
