Rain put a damper on a car wash to raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to support Special Olympics BC, but not before $850 was raised.
The event was held Saturday, May 26, at Canadian Tire and put on by local sheriffs, firefighters and RCMP members.
"We are very happy with the results of the car wash considering the weather" said Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass.
50-50 raffle tickets remain on sale at the community policing counter at the Prince George RCMP detachment, 450 Victoria St. Tickets are $5 and a maximum of 2,000 will be sold.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is set for this Thursday at the Prince George RCMP detachment, 4 p.m. start. The draw for the raffle is also set for that time.
