Car dealers sponsor new student awards

CNC will soon be offering three new scholarships and a bursary for its automotive students, thanks to the Prince George Car Deaership Association and the New Car Dealers Foundation of B.C.

CNC will soon be offering three new scholarships and a bursary for its automotive students, thanks to the Prince George Car Deaership Association and the New Car Dealers Foundation of B.C.

The awards, worth a combined total of $10,000 each year, will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in CNC's programs for automotive service technician, auto body repair and automotive glass technician.

The two auto industry groups are also funding a new annual scholarship that will go to a CNC student in the business management or accounting and finance program.

"Prince George New Car Dealers are proud to be able to assist students in this region pursue career opportunities in the automotive sector," said Peter Sia, general manager of Northland Nissan, in a release. "Not only does this create greater certainty and flexibility for the local industry, it ensures our young people have a chance to develop the skills that will allow them to launch and maintain a career in their own community."
