Update: Car crashes into backyard of Richmond home in Monday accident

The driver of a Honda Civic ran a red light, which caused the incident.

An accident in Richmond sent a car onto the property of a home late Monday morning.

Richmond RCMP officers arrived at No. 2 and Francis roads shortly before noon on Feb. 26 after receiving a report of a two-vehicle collision that sent one car into the backyard of a home.

After an investigation, Richmond RCMP found the driver of the Honda Civic had run a red light at the intersection.

The driver was then issued a violation ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for not stopping at a red light.

Police confirmed no one was hurt in the incident.
