For the past two years, the Canfor corporation has held its annual general meeting in Prince George. It started as a 75th anniversary gesture to move the meeting, and all its attached activities, to the place where most of the company's work is done.

This year, however, the meetings are not being held here. Instead, Canfor is holding the set of events in Fort St. John.

"We used to have all our AGMs in Vancouver, and then thought we'd see how it went over holding it in Prince George. Based on the positive feedback, we've decided to test hosting it in another of our operating communities," said Canfor spokesperson Corinne Stavness. "We haven't decided where the AGM will be held in future years, but Prince George is a major operation hub for us and also has the amenities we need to host this kind of meeting, so I would expect that if we continue to host these outside the Lower Mainland, we will return to Prince George in the not-too-distant future."

The first Fort St. John edition of the Canfor AGM will begin on Wednesday. Those who are interested in the company but cannot attend the meetings can read the Canfor Annual Report, available electronically on the company's website at www.canfor.com/Investor-Relations or upon request at [email protected].

Shareholders who cannot attend but wish to vote on agenda items were provided with the option of proxy voting.
