Prince George is under six months away from sweeping the red carpet in welcoming 13 of the world’s best women’s curling teams to local ice.

The 2020 Women’s World Curling Championships are coming in March and, in continuing with the anticipation of local fans and curling enthusiasts, tickets are set to go on sale for Canada’s preliminary matches this Friday (Nov. 1) at 10 a.m.

Curling Canada has released the host team’s schedule, but the curlers that will wear the red and white jackets won’t be determined until February at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The Canadians will play 12 games in the seven-day pool-play stage, including five days consisting of two games, before the playoff round begins.

Prince George will be able to watch Canada live at the CN Centre on the following dates:

  • Mar. 15, Draw 3 (8 a.m.)
  • Mar. 15, Draw 5 (6 p.m.)
  • Mar. 16, Draw 7 (1 p.m.)
  • Mar. 16, Draw 8 (6 p.m.)
  • Mar. 17, Draw 10 (1 p.m.)
  • Mar. 17, Draw 11 (6 p.m.)
  • Mar. 18, Draw 13 (1 p.m.)
  • Mar. 19, Draw 15 (8 a.m.)
  • Mar. 19, Draw 16 (1 p.m.)
  • Mar. 20, Draw 18 (8 a.m.)
  • Mar. 20, Draw 20 (6 p.m.)

The rest of the international field will also be determined after each regional tournament decides a winner that will come to B.C.’s north.

Single draw tickets to watch Team Canada start at $19.50; the price for non-Canada games is $17.50.

More information on tickets and game packages is available on Curling Canada’s website.

Volunteers are still needed for the international tournament, taking place from Mar. 14 to 22, 2020.
